A Jumeirah Villa: Immensity Made Intimate
The brief arrived via WhatsApp with a single reference image: a classic chinoiserie scene, but darker — a navy ground, hand-painted branches heavy with blossom, a studied melancholy that read more Arts and Crafts than Qing dynasty. The client, recently relocated from London, wanted her Jumeirah villa's formal dining room to feel as though it had been there for decades rather than months.
The challenge was architectural. At 4.2 metres high with an irregular layout — one wall consumed by French doors opening to a garden terrace, the remaining three each a different width — the space demanded a design that could work in fragments without losing coherence across the room as a whole. We developed a custom scene across all three surfaces, adjusting the density of the botanical motif to balance visual weight on each panel independently.
The result: a dining room where the pattern doesn't so much decorate as define. The navy ground absorbs light in the evenings, making the space feel contained and considered. Candlelight catches the gilded detail of the hand-painted birds. It reads, precisely as intended, as if it had always been there.

A Downtown Penthouse: Geometry at Scale
The Downtown client was precise from the first message. She had seen a project in a Singapore hotel — a large-scale geometric mural in warm terracotta, burnt orange, and cream — and wanted something that honoured the idea without replicating it. Her penthouse living room offered twelve metres of largely uninterrupted wall. She wanted it to read as bold without crossing into aggressive.
We worked through four design iterations before arriving at the final composition: a repeating geometric pattern rooted in Islamic tile tradition, re-scaled to work at room height and reworked in a palette drawn from the warm undertones of her existing stone floors. The geometry is complex enough to reward study; simple enough that it doesn't overwhelm the room or compete with the city views beyond the glazing.
What the scale of bespoke wallpaper in Dubai makes possible — and what no off-the-shelf import could replicate — is a precise proportional relationship between a repeated motif and the specific dimensions of a room. The project moved from brief to finished installation in three weeks. The client's note afterwards: "It looks like it was always supposed to be a room."
A Dubai Hills Family Home: A Child's Room, Reconsidered
The brief for a Dubai Hills bedroom — a nursery in transition — was, in the client's words, "not a children's room, but a room where a child feels the world is remarkable." Her daughter was eight. The commission asked for something that would grow with her rather than date within two years.
We developed a bespoke mural drawing from the visual landscape of the Once Upon A Dune collection as a starting point: desert dunes rendered at twilight, a sky moving from amber through to deep indigo, a lone camel silhouette at the horizon. The design borrowed its register from landscape painting rather than illustration, giving the room a painterly authority that sits somewhere between children's imagery and fine art.
